Welcome back everyone!
I hope you have all recharged your batteries for what is going to be a very long season on and off the pitch at Elland Road.
Today we travelled to Reading for our first away game of the league season.
As always Gary Barras from The Hope Inn pub on York Road opened early for us so we can have a *coffee or *tea before we leave........... *if you believe that then your a fool
We had our usual pick ups at the Hilton in Leeds and then Junction 37 on M1.
Once everyone was on board off we toddled down to Slough where we had an hours refreshment stop in the local Wetherspoons.
Was good to see everyone again, with the banter being flung around, usually in the direction of our Vice Secretary Andrew Caunt...... and usually by myself if I'm honest!
We leave the pub with some of our passengers worse for wear......this normally happens on the first away day..... We call this the "first away day blow out"..... but lessons will be learnt by the few that this disease hits I'm sure.
At the game I was feeling optimistic. The team looked strong, only player missing really was Lewis Cook due to his red card versus Doncaster the previous Thursday night
The team was
Silvestri
Beradi
Cooper
Bamba
Taylor
Adeyemi
Mowatt
Phillips
Byram
Dallas
Wood
The game started brightly, with bamba being lucky to still be on the pitch in my eyes, but being a bias Leeds fan was happy to see the yellow card come out.
Other than a few shots from both teams there weren't any clear cut chances so nothing to report on the game with unfortunately.
As we set off home we were minus a passenger as he decided to go to TK Max for a jumper or something.....and with the Police giving the orders to leave we had no choice but to leave said person holding his newly bought top in Reading. £60 train fair home......serves him right for going shopping if you ask me!
Arriving back home at 10.30pm wasn't too bad but let's be honest we get screwed over more and more each season with game changes and long midweek trips.
Next up is Bristol away on Wednesday...... What an absolute joke.... I can't make it due to work commitments but the branch will be travelling down with another sold coach.
If your travelling down yourself we wish you a safe journey there and back. But make sure you bring 3 points back with you
See you soon
Danny
