Brighton Away 24/02/2014
Brighton away started when the bus picked me up from Junction 35 M1 (South Yorkshire) at Dinner time Tuesday. It was absolutely freezing with the rain and the win blowing a gale! and I couldn’t wait to get on the bus, on the upside it kept my beers cold! The bus was packed and everyone were laughing, joking, some more than others sleeping and with a slight bit of belief that we could make it Four away wins in a row, a very positive atmosphere. We were due to arrive at Crawley around Five o’clock late afternoon for a pub stop.
After One stop at the services and a very smooth run down to the capital we arrived at Crawley where everyone were quick to get to the bar! We stopped for roughly an hour/an hour and a half before finishing the rest of the journey to the south coast. Without any waiting around everyone were soon back on the bus after a chance to stretch some very cramped legs and a chance to move around.
We finally arrived at the Brighton AMEX Stadium, just short of half an hour before kick off with no problems at all. After a disappointing result we were soon back on the coach after a tiresome Leeds performance which resulted in a 2-0 defeat, we were soon back on the coach and on our way back up north sharpish surprisingly no waiting around for an escort away from the stadium.
Likewise with the journey down we had one services stop and one additional stop to collect some much needed alcohol. This point in the night there were some tired heads dropping off and the atmosphere had soon quietened down an hour in to the journey. I arrived back at Junction 35 just after 2.20 AM Wednesday morning with no real traffic on the roads another smooth run back to the North.
Apart from the Ninety minutes of football which is often the case with Leeds United another superb away trip with the White Rose Supporters Branch and I am certainly looking forward to the next.
